Christmas Night

In his new football gear
Shaydon & Zack playing catch in the football helmets
How lucky we were to have Bailey in town too, they sure love each other!!

Lily and her giraffe pillow
Shaydon loving his neigh (horse) thanks Gma Gpa Gerratt
Shaydon watching Zack open his presents, love his expression they have such a special bond I love it. He is so good to my little Shaydon.

Tonight broke another recorded for Shaydon. We brought PJ's thinking we would lay him down at his cousin, but instead they tried to have a slumper party in Zack's room. All was going well until it was time to get a drink of water. Zack was handing the glass to Shaydon who was laying down and Shaydon thought it was a sippy and the ice cold water went right in his face, all of it!! Needless to say he was awake and it was already 10:30pm. Shaydon was keeping the others up (who went right to bed after he left) so we ended up putting him in Lily's room and by 12:00pm he came down the stairs eating a candy cane he found and said " candy cane" so we went home. He is just crib trained and won't sleep anywhere else. He fell asleep on the drive home quickly.

It was so fun having Shaydon to enjoy the Christmas morning with. He is such a joy!! Shaydon sleeped in until 9:30am so we had a late start which we also enjoyed!! Santa never wraps his gifts or stocking! Then we opened our gifts to each other, looked through our stockings, had breakfast and then just relaxed and played morning/afternoon until Scott's family arrived.

Christmas Eve

My dad came up early morning and we took the boys to monkey business!! What a GREAT place for kids. It wasn't too full, but others had the same idea. Then we ordered lunch for the BEST Pizza place in Boise. Digg's Pizza.

I can't believe how brave those two are!

Dad had fun too

They had all kinds of jump houses, mats, outdoor play ground stuff, rock wall and jungle gym! I am glad they have so much fun together!!
After naps it was present time. They were spoiled by everyone and enjoyed their new guitars and big pop up baskets!

our christmas card

~ Merry Christmas Friends & Family ~

2009 has been another interesting year filled with many different adventures, some that were fun and others that were not so fun. We spent almost the entire first half of the New Year trying to purchase a new house. We learned more than we ever wanted to know about the process and challenges involved in buying a house in a “short sale”. After a 5 month ordeal we were finally able to buy the house and move in June. The move went relatively smooth the one who seemed to have the hardest adjustment was Roxy but has since settled in to the new place and seems to enjoy a little more space to run and play.

We were able to take our first family camping trip since Shaydon came along as we went and stayed at Anderson Ranch Reservoir for a couple of days of boating and swimming with friends. Scott with the help of the rest of the Gerratt’s took Shaydon on another camping trip to Bear Lake for the Garner family reunion while Sommers stayed home for a massage therapy continuing education course. Shaydon took his first year of swimming lessons that lasted for 3 weeks in June, he learned how to move his feet and arms in the water and put his head under the water while holding his breath. The rest of the summer was spent with trips up to Lucky Peak to boat and weekly trips to Roaring Springs, the free movie and the public library for Sommers and Shaydon.

Shaydon celebrated his second birthday in August with lots of friends and family and as usual was spoiled by everyone and their gifts. He had a farm animal themed party headlined by an awesome Holstein cow birthday cake decorated by his aunt Yvonne. Thanks to everyone that came from near and far.

In October we had an exciting month starting with a 3 hour train ride to go pick pumpkins for Halloween. Shaydon loved the train and just kept saying “Wow” every time the horn would blow. He also got to spend a week with Papa Hunt and Grandma & Grandpa Gerratt while Mom and Dad ran off to Hawaii for some much needed rest and relaxation. He had a great time going to McCall for the weekend with his cousins and spending the rest of the week in Burley helping Papa at work and keeping Grandma & Grandpa Gerratt busy chasing him. He was so busy and had such fun he didn’t seem to miss Mom and Dad much at all. We ended the month by going Trick or Treating with Shaydon in his Gorilla costume accompanied by his Nana Hunt.

We also found out that we are expecting our newest addition in May and are very excited about his/her arrival, but it has been a long couple of months with sickness and no energy plus taking care of Shaydon for Sommers. Sommers was very disappointed not to hand make our cards this year, but was happy to get something out rather than nothing.

We have enjoyed another great year of many blessings and fun times as we watch Shaydon grow and continually learn new things. We hope that everyone has a good Christmas Season and great new year.

P.S. You can always keep up on how we are doing by checking our family blog at: http://www.sssnewsflash.blogspot.com/.

This video is from our ward christmas party. How is it that I go to church every Sunday and didn't know that it was a Hawaian theme. We ate ham, rice, green beans and jello! All the kids got on stage to sing christmas carols, but Shaydon just danced by us instead. He loves to jump.

Good thing we have an architect living with us to help figure this out.
I don't think we could of done it with out him, Thanks Kalen!
Shaydon looks at the house everyday no kidding and Say's "my house I made it" so cute. He did eat lots of the candy, but there were still some left for the house.
I was the official glue(er) & Scott and Shaydon were the official candy placers, while Kalen was our holder!
Always a fun tradition for the holiday!

College Football Game

1st

Scott took Shaydon to the BSU last game of the season vs Nevada it was pretty cold, but he did pretty good. They came home a little early, but I was prepared to go and pick him up at half time. It did give me a few hours to myself which was wonderful. It's been awhile. I vacuumed upstairs, finished to craft projects (while watching the game), started the dishwasher, cleaned out Shaydon's closet & organized into storage containers, put away Christmas boxes! Pretty good huh!!

tired little guy

I even got a nap when they got home since Shaydon was sleeping too.

What a GREAT DAY!!
