Dudelange, Luxembourg

7.4.08

  • Dad would always watch a movie in the morning and then we wouldn't leave until like 11:00am. That's a late start!
  • Rested in the morning and then had lunch at Sonya's two different types of potato salads, brats and hot dogs (don't remember what they called them) & cantaloupe
  • Went to the city park which had lots of toys and a water fountain for kids to play in
  • Shaydon is learning to sleep/nap in his stroller.
  • Then walked around down town Dudelange even though most stores were closed
  • Stopped at the bakery and got dessert for tomorrow night
7.5.08
  • Breakfast at Sonya's crescent roles with meat (don't remember the name) cantaloupe and OJ
  • Traveled to Belgium in two different cars

7. 7.08

  • Sonya worked until 2:00 and Franck went to pick up Celene from the city so mom and I relaxed with Shaydon at Sonya's house
  • Dinner at Celine parents house salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, pork with gravy, carrots, potatoes cherry and apple tarts.
  • Celine's parent were very nice and shared their family history and also gave Shaydon a stuffed raccoon.

  • Saw the LDS Missionary's walking and Mimi bought everyone Ice Cream, interesting they (missionary's) got cake batter flavor ice cream

  • Dinner at Tom's parents house. Tom is a friend of Franck's who came to the states one of the times when he came over. We had drinks to start with then starters bread with salmon spread, Fondue with beef and ostrich meat coleslaw and potato salad and then Ice cream with chocolate and waffle.

Paris, France

7.2.08

  • Took the metro to get around which was a 1st for everyone, but me.

  • Our first stop was the Eiffel Tower such an amazing structure

  • Then grandpa took Shaydon on his 1st carousel ride While the rest of us ate crapes with chocolate
  • Then it was off to The Sacré-Cœur Basilica "Basilica of the Sacred Heart" is a Roman Catholic basilica it is located on the highest point in Paris.

  • Went on a dinner boat ride up the Seine River which was beautiful to see all the sites we saw earlier that day, Mimi liked this because we didn't have to walk! The food was a 4 course meal that was delicious. We all tried lots of new things, including veal.
  • Had drinks at the corner cafe and people watched. When you order water it's either flat or sparkling and comes in a small or large bottle that you pour into a glass.
  • Our 1st night in the Kyriad Hotel I slept with Mimi and I think she wished she would of kept the ear plugs from the plane as Shaydon got up 3 times during the night. Which I thought was pretty good considering the time change, but Mimi didn't think so.

  • Breakfast was on the plane "gross". Lunch was at "touristy" restaurant not very good food, but like the onion soup. Dinner on the Boat I had the cantaloupe soup, veal, and citrus sorbet for dessert.

7.3.08

  • The Champs Elysees and the Notre Dame were our 2 stops for today

  • Don't forget the bakery on the corner for some bread and pastry's (couldn't get enough of the chocolate crescent rolls)

  • Loaded back into the Van that Franck borrowed from his work to hall us and our stuff back to Dudelange Luxembourg. About a 3 hour car ride through the green lush country, but not without some traffic. It was hard to stay awake some of the time because we were so tired, but we would miss out on our personal tour of the county side.
  • Mimi stayed at Sonya's house while Me, Shaydon, Mom and Dad slept at Franck's apartment which was down town Dudelange Luxembourg

  • Breakfast was at the Hotel buffet style(meat, cheese, breads, pastries, coffee, hot coco, OJ, fruit cocktail and prunes) Lunch at Dinner at McDonald's because nothing else was open. Most of the stores/restaurants close by 7:00pm and we got in late from France.

The kids loved the car
We went with the Perkins

The Hawks won 7-6 in the bottom of the 9th inning
This was the longest Shaydon had been up in a long time we left the game at 10:00pm and by the time we got out of the parking lot he was asleep. He was such a trooper!! I thought he might sleep in, but it was just a thought!!! No such LUCK....

Roaring Springs

Today was our 1st trip to the water park. Shaydon was so excited that he skipped his mid-morning feeding, he did so good. We only stayed for about 2 hours because I had to work. It was perfect though to see what I need to bring and what I don't. It's going to be fun just going for a few hours. Thanks Scott for our season pass. We even ventured down the slide together.

We have lots of friends with passes so there is always going to be someone to go with!!!

So usually when I go to Yard sales there is soooo much girl stuff, but today I hit the jackpot!! I was a little sad because I had to work in the morning and wasn't able to go before work. (Early bird gets the worm). So on my way home there was one close to my house so I stopped.

Boy's Boy's Boy's

Lots of name brand stuff
Here are a couple of my favorites

I love this jacket from the GAP $3.00

I called Scott to tell him where I was and that I would be a little (long) while, when I got home my brother was there and so we all went back and we found more to buy!!! It was so fun.... I know you think I am CRAZY to get so excited, but I had it all washed, folded and in storage boxes with in a few hours.

Fun Friday

Strawberry Freezer Jam
Thank you to Jessica for inviting me to make Strawberry Freezer Jam. It's one of those things I have always wanted to do, but haven't.
So we both got the recipes from our grandma's thinking they would be different, but they were exactly the same.
Guess our Grandams think alike!!
I also made some of my mom's homemade rolls to go with the jam, it was delicious!
It was a fun Friday afternoon visiting, laughing and getting messy
It's nice because we are VT partners and we gave our girls some of the finished product

My New Toy...

When I visited California in March my Aunt Connie gave me an HP !PAC. Just like when you are a kid and you get a new toy you hurry home to get things set up and working. Well, I am not very good at techy stuff so It's taken my awhile to get things rolling. Good thing our friend Dustin does this stuff for a living and with a little bribing (BBQ) he brought his family and came over and help me finish getting it to sync. Thanks guys!!!

I am still getting use to doing everything electronic VS paper, but I am going to love it!!!

Update...

Shadyon's fever broke on Sunday afternoon, Yea!!! So I didn't have to take him back to the Doctors office. I think he had Roseolla because when his fever broke he broke out in a rash all over his body and face. Thanks Yvonne for the heads up. He is still napping a lot more than he use to during the day and is only nursing, no solids. Just not interested. His personality is slowing coming back, but still is not himself. He is only waking up one a night now and today is was at 6:30am. So things are looking better for Mom and Shaydon.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers we really appreciated it.
