our christmas card

~ Merry Christmas Friends & Family ~

2009 has been another interesting year filled with many different adventures, some that were fun and others that were not so fun. We spent almost the entire first half of the New Year trying to purchase a new house. We learned more than we ever wanted to know about the process and challenges involved in buying a house in a “short sale”. After a 5 month ordeal we were finally able to buy the house and move in June. The move went relatively smooth the one who seemed to have the hardest adjustment was Roxy but has since settled in to the new place and seems to enjoy a little more space to run and play.

We were able to take our first family camping trip since Shaydon came along as we went and stayed at Anderson Ranch Reservoir for a couple of days of boating and swimming with friends. Scott with the help of the rest of the Gerratt’s took Shaydon on another camping trip to Bear Lake for the Garner family reunion while Sommers stayed home for a massage therapy continuing education course. Shaydon took his first year of swimming lessons that lasted for 3 weeks in June, he learned how to move his feet and arms in the water and put his head under the water while holding his breath. The rest of the summer was spent with trips up to Lucky Peak to boat and weekly trips to Roaring Springs, the free movie and the public library for Sommers and Shaydon.

Shaydon celebrated his second birthday in August with lots of friends and family and as usual was spoiled by everyone and their gifts. He had a farm animal themed party headlined by an awesome Holstein cow birthday cake decorated by his aunt Yvonne. Thanks to everyone that came from near and far.

In October we had an exciting month starting with a 3 hour train ride to go pick pumpkins for Halloween. Shaydon loved the train and just kept saying “Wow” every time the horn would blow. He also got to spend a week with Papa Hunt and Grandma & Grandpa Gerratt while Mom and Dad ran off to Hawaii for some much needed rest and relaxation. He had a great time going to McCall for the weekend with his cousins and spending the rest of the week in Burley helping Papa at work and keeping Grandma & Grandpa Gerratt busy chasing him. He was so busy and had such fun he didn’t seem to miss Mom and Dad much at all. We ended the month by going Trick or Treating with Shaydon in his Gorilla costume accompanied by his Nana Hunt.

We also found out that we are expecting our newest addition in May and are very excited about his/her arrival, but it has been a long couple of months with sickness and no energy plus taking care of Shaydon for Sommers. Sommers was very disappointed not to hand make our cards this year, but was happy to get something out rather than nothing.

We have enjoyed another great year of many blessings and fun times as we watch Shaydon grow and continually learn new things. We hope that everyone has a good Christmas Season and great new year.

P.S. You can always keep up on how we are doing by checking our family blog at: http://www.sssnewsflash.blogspot.com/.

Congrats on the new baby coming. I was kind of guessing but was waiting for an announcement. Any guesses on the gender?

Need to get those Christmas day pics up so we can see Shaydon. He is at such a cute age for the Holidays. He looks a little unsure in his picture with Santa.
