Grimes Creek

I have always wanted to go here. My friends Chad and Kelli go here often in the summer and winter and I have always wanted to go. It's just before Idaho City, Idaho. They invited us to go sledding and we were so excited. We took my dad's rhino too which was a lot of fun. So after we were tired of going up and down the hill we tied the sled and tubs to the back and we were off again. We got there about 12:30 and there were about 5 other car loads of people and by 2:00 everyone was gone and we were the only ones on the mountain. Oh, Jess there was a bathroom!!! The kids had fun too. They are just too cute all bundled up and can hardly walk. We left by about 3:30pm, but not before we helped dig out the Rhino!! Scott took it for one last spin and ended up getting stuck. Thanks to Chad for having a saw & we cut some branches down to help with the traction & It worked, Kelli and I like to think it was our loving support.

Thanks to the Hessings for such a fun time

my two men in my life!!!

i love the foot rest!

Shopping & Trolly Ride...

We spent most of morning being lazy and then got up and went shopping by 9:30. We went to Target, Shopko and the Mall. We are crazy to venture out! There was hardly anyone out.. CRAZY huh... I thought there would be more. After shopping we worked up an appetite and ate at On the Border for Lunch. It was thee BEST Shaydon has done at a restaurant. I was such a proud MOM. We finished up the night on a trolley ride around a subdivision with very good lights.

One of the houses we saw on our trolley ride!!!!

Waiting for our Hot Coco & my favorite Carmel Apple cider to end our night with!!!!
We are having so much fun!! YEA!!!!

santa did come!!!!!

Shaydon had no idea what was coming this morning. He did find his buss and never let it out of his sight. My mom and dad were already up with him and Scott and I were still sleeping until he came in pushing his buss and dancing. He was the cutest!!! We opened the stocking and then the presents. Lots of fun... Shaydon was pretty into the presents and went from one to the next and then back like he had never seen that one before, except for the bus!!!

Shaydon just walking around checking things out

We went to Juston's house for a delicious breakfast with his family. Hash browns, sausage, little smokies, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy & OJ. It was fun to see what the kids got and then they opened up all of our gifts it was like two Christmas's the kids said. Thanks for letting us come over eat, hang out, visit and enjoy your company.

We came back home and relaxed while playing cards. Dad watched a movie. We learned a new game "Golf"? It was pretty addicting, but Phase 10 took most of the afternoon until dinner was ready. Pretty traditional food. Turkey & Ham, cranberry's, mom's pretzel fresh raspberry jello, mash potato's and gravy, Rebecca's sweet potato casserole and home made rolls. DELICIOUS. We have lots of leftovers to last a week. We also did a gift card exchange with stealing involved. It was lots of fun too. We got a game of Texas Hold'em going with our $1.00 per person Annie, Mom ended up wining th $6.00 pot!

It was a really good Christmas considering all our new traditions we are starting. Can't wait until next year.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christmas Eve

such proud grandparents

playing with there new toy
landon was so smiley tonight

could not get a good pix of both of them together!!!
tyson is so good with him, landon just lights up when they play together

We ended up having Landon for a few hours & made the most of it. It's been 4 months since my parents have seen Landon so there was lots of catching up to do. We started off by eating dinner an Italian theme, opened presents, changed into PJ's, took photos and pack up and headed out on the ucky roads to take Landon back. The most snow in Boise since we've lived here, not to mention the wind. Once we got back, out came the snacks & dad and Scott started a movie while mom and I worked on getting dinner ready for tomorrow. It was a late night, but we are ready for the big day tomorrow!!!

It was nice to have it SO snowy in Boise, it was like we were in Burley!!!

It was different doing most of our opening/stuff on Christmas Eve, but a good new tradition to start with Landon & Shaydon. They both got new PJ's & spoiled rotten!!! We love them both so much and were glad grandma & grandpa Hunt were here to share it with. It was nice to start our own traditions & be with our immediate family although we did miss our extended family.

Christmas Eve Day.....

Sledding on Simplot Hill

Steelhead Hockey

We went the the Hockey game tonight at the Bank of America Center, it was Shaydon's 1st hockey game. We had a lot of fun clapping, yelling, pointing, smiling and eating ice cream. We sat right next to a couple of guys who were really into Hockey and Shaydon couldn't not quit looking at them especially when they would get mad at a call or just yell DEFENCE!! They were dedicated fans!!! It was a GREAT family activity.
Thank you to Dr. Ferch for the tickets.

I LOVE these TWO

Play group was GREAT this week. We played around the house took morning naps and then ventured out to Costco. Tyson was picking Landon up this week so he stayed and visited while Landon was still taking his afternoon nap. Shaydon woke up shortly after Tyson arrived to pick up Landon and was in such a cuddly mood. They cuddled on the couch for "like" 5 minutes. That's a miracle in it's self. Such a precious pix!!! Landon is starting to army crawl growing up so fast. Shaydon never did that just went straight to all fours.

We had fun today, Landon!!! We love you....

Christmas Cards

DONE, yea......
I just love our card this year
They were time consuming, but I love how they turned out
As always Scott helped write the letter and I designed (copied) and put it together with some of Shaydon's help

Scott
Scott has had a year of adjustment, learning to be a Dad with all the fun & frustrating times that come along with it. He also changed jobs in early March of this year & is now working for Idaho Power as a Tax Accountant. It has been a very good change for him with less stress & more flexible hours that make it possible to be at home more. He especially enjoys Tuesdays when he gets to pick Shaydon up from the babysitter & spend one-on-one time with him until Sommers gets home from work. He has really enjoyed reading & teaching him about football and other sports. Shaydon is learning & growing everyday I see what a patient loving Mom & wife that Sommers is.

Sommers
Sommers has had a year of change. She decided to give up her position with BLM after 11 years to stay at home and put out the fires there. She missed being out in the field in all the fire action, but instead was able to spend time at Roaring Springs with Shaydon and enjoyed wakeboarding on the Lake. Sommers was even brave enough to take a 10 month old on a 12 hour flight to Europe for 10 days in July with her parents and grandma to visit their exchange student in Luxembourg. They were also able to visit Belguim, France, Germany & Holland. It was a great trip. She has become the ultimate time manager as she goes through each day making sure that Shaydon is able to stick to his schedule so he is a happy boy. Sommers has enjoyed being able to have play group at the house on Wednesdays and getting to watch Landon 1 day a week during the school year
Shaydon
Shaydon has had a year of learning and growing. His little personality is so fun. It’s the little things that Shaydon has learned that make us so proud: Sleep through the night at 4 months, eating real food, playing & sharing with others, laughing at himself, crawling, stand up & walking. Loves to go on drives while listening to Johnny Cash. Going on jogs, shopping & errands with mom. Loves any kind of water & using sign language! Shaydon has tested our patience, but brought such happiness & laughter to our family. It’s hard to remember life without him.

Keep in touch with our family blog at:http://www.sssnewsflash.blogspot.com/
Roxy
Roxy has had an eventful year adjusting to having a curious little boy around all the time. She has had to learn to share her toys and attention with Shaydon and even sometimes her food, but she has done very well. She has especially enjoyed when Shaydon shares his food with her. She is like a vacuum as soon as he drops something she is right on it. We love her very much and are grateful she lets Shaydon pet, crawl & poke her.
Happy Holiday’s to all of you!! We are grateful this time of year to celebrate our Saviors life, who blesses us with the things we need.
