bye bye

Calabria
I knew that last weekend was going to be our 1st
and last time out on the boat, just a feeling that I had.
It was bitter sweet, but we will still have the opportunity to use it if we want.
Doesn't mean I didn't cry............ a lot!!!

Free lunch in the Park

We did our Visiting Teaching at the Owhyee Park this month. Found out about an hour before we went that it's no longer particapating in the Free lunch program so we brought our lunch and it was still fun. I also help out my friend kelli by taking her two kids while she got ready to go out of town. Thanks for trusting me with your kids.
how old are you?
Thanks Jess for taking the pix.
Your the best, check out her photography blog!!!

Their off to Frankfurt, Germany

Alisa, Jan and Hinkley at the farewell luncheon

Grandma Great Garner with Slater
Our Family, We love you Grandma Great!!!
Zack and Shaydon playing football at Grandma Gerratts house
Shaydon and Nic trading helmets

Uncle Dave meeting Slater for the 1st time
Thanks to Lexie for helping with the kids, she is the BEST EVER!!
(we wish you lived closer)
We had such a GREAT weekend with the Gerratt family. It was busy, fun and relaxing. It was our 1st trip since we had Slater and we had to drive the truck to fit everything. I forget how much stuff you have with a little one. We got Gerratt family pictures which i hope turned out good. It's been 3 years since we had one taken before there are 6 new additions to our family since. Slater had a blow out during the pix's. The kids (cousins) love to play with each other and love to have "papa gerratt" play with them. He is good with them chasing them around, playing tractors and hauling dirt visiting the farm (which Shaydon loves). If it's not papa gerratt then it's Logan and Lexie. They are such wonderful cousins to the younger ones. We love you guys. We had pulled pork which was fabulous for the luncheon, best I've ever had.
We also got to attend the blessing of Hinkley Brown.
Ben did a good job and we are so excited to have Hinkley with us.
Thanks to Larry and Barbara for falling in love and having such wonderful kids.
We love you and will miss you, but know you are where you are suppose to be.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Roaring Springs

Doing a little warming up while playing at the water park
I have been wanting to get a pix of Slater yawning and I finally did.
It was a perfect day at Roaring Springs today. It was a little over cast, but still warm. I thought it would be a good 1st day to get the rules and routine down for all of us so when we go with friends it would be a little easier. Shaydon was a little shy when it came to the slides, but was perfect because he didn't want to do anything with out me. (I thought he might pick right back up where he left off last year, but he didn't he was timid) He still need to lean that if he brings his toys (stacking/nesting cups bucket squirt toys) he has to share. I think we will be working on sharing for a long time. Telling mom where you are going to play and always being able to see me. These are all HARD concepts for a 2.5 year old. I think Slater enjoyed himself too. He stayed right on schedule and liked watching his brother. I think there where a few people looking at me like: what are you doing with a baby that small at the water park. I think" Why not jump in with both feet." I hope the weather stays warm I mean it is the END of June for heaven sakes.
Thanks Santa for our passes!!

HFD 2010

Shaydon and Scott

Cold breakfast for Dad, his favorite

Thanks Trey and Tian for our church bow ties
Shaydon help me pick the flowers and get the breakfast ready to take into dad.
Slater had a bit of an unset tummy and had his 1st projectile spit up 3 times right as we gave dad his breakfast. This is our life now... never a duel moment. We love you dad and appreciate how much you sacrifice for our family. You are a wonderful husband and father. You are irreplaceable. Thanks for all you do for our family. WE hope you had a great day. We finished the evening up at Jamie's parents house in the North End (they just moved in after all the reconstruction was finished) It's a BEAUTIFUL house.
It's doesn't even look like the same house. We BBQ and had brownies for dessert while we watched Avatiar. Thanks Robin and Cristy, especially Cristy for playing with Shaydon.
What a perfect day Scott said.
Happy Fathers Day Scott!!!

flooded at 12:30AM

Good thing we were up late tonight because we had a "surprise" of water leaking into our basement through our light fixture from our washer. Yeah!! Perfect just what we both wanted to deal with this late or ever AGAIN!! When will we get some luck on our side? Or was the luck because we stayed up late when we both knew we should be in bed?!

It's still broken and waiting for a part that comes in July 9th. CRAZY!!
Thanks to all for letting us use your washer.

pool

I bought a blow up pool for the house last year & we got it out since it's been nice weather. Low 70's is considered nice these days. Didn't realize how much Shaydon had grown until he got into the INFANT pool. What was I thinking. There was barely enough room to lay down, but he still thought it was fun. We set up the slide so it would land into the water. He loved that we me and Slater watched him. He would say mom watch me/watch me!!! Slater too!!!

Can't wait for Roaring Springs!!! We need at least high 70's for that!!!

Wedding of

Matt and Jenni Anderson

Matt & Scott
(doesn't Matt look sooo tall?)
a family shot and our precious little slater.
Thanks to Bo and Jamie for watching Shaydon for us although there were lots of kids and he would of fit right in. Their wedding was at the Grove Hotel in Down Town Boise out on the terrace. It was beautiful!! The reception was inside in the convention hall they served dinner, cake & champagne for the toast. Scott know Matt from when he worked at Albertson. There is a group of them who still talk, email and get together for lunch. We also have a Lunch we do with every one's family and a camping trip during the summer. Lots of fun.
It has been so GREAT getting to know them.
Congrats &
Have fun in Jamaica!

skateboard

do you think he likes it?
poising for the camera
pix with jamie he sure loves you
Thanks to Chris for Shaydon's new skateboard.
He had one as a kid & thought Shaydon needed one too.
It came with a skater shirt and he has really been into wearing the clothes for whatever sport he is playing or watching on TV. He doesn't wear it unless that is corresponding to an activity.
For example: playing out side on his bike and then decides to play soccer so he comes in and changes the WHOLE outfit to soccer clothes and shoes.
He is refusing to wear what I want him to wear.
This is going to be really hard for me.

on my own

Well the 1st week on my own wasn't too bad. We stayed home 4 of the 7 day's. Didn't realize how much everyone was helping. By the 3rd day I realized that I was exosted and need to rest when the boys were sleeping in the afternoon. I always give that advise and usually live by it, but I felt good until now. I guess week three I hit the wall. Can't quite catch up on the sleep, but am still functioning. A friend gave me this blog to read about her experience with the second child. She said this (paraphrasing) One child is like playing house and the second is becoming a mom and the real work begins. This is true. Shaydon has not only been my son, but my side kick, best friend, shopping partner, secret keeper crafting buddy, road tripper and play mate for the last 2 years & 22 months. We have been having fun doing all these things. Is is possible to to all of these things with two? Found most of my free time is late at night and should I use it to check email/blog/craft or house work? I am going to have to learn how to manage my free time better while prioritizing the to do list . Some days it seems easy & and got this and others I wonder what the heck I got myself into.

Shaydon is wondering where all the people went. 1st it was Bo and Jamie then Papa. Next was grandpa and grandma Gerratt. Mimi, aunt Dawn, Lexie and aunt Wendy, cousins Zack, Lily and
Nic with Eric and Yvonne. The list goes on......Playgroups with Milo and Trey and Tian. It must seem like one big party. Some day's he is really needy and wants all my attention, but most of the time it's "I am Big now" "Where is my baby brother and is he coming with us? Will he come to Church or the store etc... with us?" "Why" I say Yep he is in our family now and will be coming everywhere with us. okay he says. I've been pleasantly surprised how good he's been. Trying to spend Slaters sleep time doing something with him so he feels he is getting the attention he needs. I find that he is more willing to help me out with Slater when I involve him. Potty training is still a struggle and wish he would just get it, but I guess I am going to have to put in a good week of just us and the toliet for him to get it.

Scott has been such a GREAT help. He has offered to do feeding on the weekend and sometimes gets up with Slater during the night. I feel bad asking him, because he works all day, but if he offers I am going to take him up on it. We had "survival time" with Shaydon and he has started with Slater. Basically tummy time. It's fun to see Scott play with Shaydon and Slater he's such a good dad. He knows when he calls me on the way home from work and it's been one of those days he sure knows how to lighten my load after a hard day of work. Thanks honey.

Slator has been such a great addition to our family we love him and I know he loves us. He is already smiling at us and is a GREAT sleeper. I don't know how long it takes to establish a routine, but I think he has one all ready. I will lay him down about 9:00pm-10:00pm and he will sleep until 4:00am- 5:00am. How great is that I am so lucky. He's been a good eater and pooper from the beginning. He is back up to his birth weight of 7.11 lbs. Thank you baby wise!!

Roxy hasn't skipped a beat. I think she knew before any of us that Slater was coming to our home. She was very clinging from before I knew I was pregnant. Her new hang out spot in the Slaters room right in the door way. It's a good visual for the rest of the house. Likes to know what is going on. She has only had one accident in the house since Slater was born. She is vying for attention too.
