The Hunt Christmas

Traditions on the Hunt side this year were a little off. Being that Scott and I are both from Burley we usually never have to choose where we will spend Christmas. Since we were in Utah with his family for Christmas morning we rolled into town just in time to have dinner at my grandma Mimi's house. Which means we had to do Christmas with my family in the evening of Christmas day instead of in the morning like we used to.

Christmas at Grandma's
I love to go to Mimi's house. Ever since I was little I have always looked forward to the dinner all my aunts and grandma cook. Sipping hot apple cider is my all time favorite. We are a dill pickle family and it wouldn't be a gathering if there weren't pickles in the pickle elevator. Seeing my cousins and sharing all our new Christmas presents with each other and grandma & grandpa is a highlight. We would play, put on a talent, dance, gymnastic, singing, showoff show. Those were the day's. Now that we are all grown up and live in different areas we don't get to see each other very often, but we are now having kids so that means they are playing together. It's so fun to see them all playing together like we did. Watching them open their presents is what Christmas is all about. Give Shaydon a couple of years and he will be in the mix

The Gerratt Christmas

Yea.... it's Christmas time and we are so excited. I am excited to see and spend time with both our families. Scott is excited to not work for a while, Shaydon and Roxy are just excited to have us both around.

We started our drive to Utah on Thursday night after Scott got off work. We stopped in Burley because I had a dentist appointment on Friday morning. After visiting with grandma and grandpa Hunt & Gerratt we had lunch at Al's (we both love the chicken wraps and salad bar) and we were off to Sandy, Utah. We try to time it so Shaydon had just ate and hopefully will sleep most of the drive, he really is a good traveller. We made it to Ogden and stop ed for fuel and gave Shaydon a break from the car seat. Our or MY first stop was ikea!! I wanted to shop, but I also had a list of things to get. Scott was not looking forward to this trip. The last time we went was opening weekend and it was a mad house. Today there was no one there, so calm. Scott enjoyed this trip much better. We made it to Scott's sisters house by 6:00pm and she made us a delicious soup for dinner.

Saturday Scott went snowboarding with his nephews Jason & Logan at Snowbird resort. I stayed back with Shaydon & Wendy and we did some last minute shopping. I think I went to Target 5 times just this week. We went to the South Town Mall and it was so cool they have a mothers lounge!!! Maybe you have heard of it, but they have a separate place for you to take kids to the bathroom, a changing area for diapers and a mothers nursing area. I was really excited for this 1st moment. Later that night we had a visitor from SANTA!!! The kids were soooo excited and a little nervous but we very thrilled that he came to see them. We sang jingle bells received candy canes and took pictures with Santa. The Hardings sure out did themselves this year.

Sunday was the day we all did present with his family, now everyone (Scott's brothers & sisters) have arrived. We draw names and to a family gift. It is so fun to watch the kids open there presents. We were suppose to leave in the morning, but there was a really bad snow storm and we decided to stay and head to Burley on Christmas morning.

We just hung out and visited most of the day all though we did make one last trip to Target. We always eat too much and continually graze all day, but the food is so good & it is the holidays. Wendy bought everyone pajamas for Christmas eve. We had a PJ parade followed by a dice game with treats as prizes. We were up late putting together "toys" for the kids from _A__ta. Oh, all the girls did a mask once the kids went to bed. We were the Ghosts from Christmas past.

We headed out of Sandy by 10:00am and hit wall to wall traffic in SLC, there was an accident on the freeway with the snowy roads. I didn't know Christmas Day was a big travel day. We were at a stand still for 40 minutes with a crying baby. Shaydon loves the car, but only when it's moving. We made it to Burley just in time for dinner at my grandma Twylla's.

Bowling: Our new Christmas tradition. Saturday 15, 2007 we went bowling with my brother & Brook at Meridian lanes. It was "Cash Thunder" Night which makes it even more fun. It means that there are colored pins and if they line up in a certain pattern and you strike that turn you get Cash!!! Bo, Jamie and Dan met us later in the evening. We ended up with $7.00 between everyone. I bowled the best I've ever bowled with 196 points. We haven't bowled in 5 years.

Jackson, Andrew, McCall, Trey & Shaydon

Another one of our traditions for the last 6 years is to get together with the Bledsoe's and Blad's for for our Christmas Dinner, it's a potluck. Brooks ham was from Costco and so tasty while Scott and I have been waiting all year for Rebecca's sweet potato's and I brought my homemade rolls. This year Blads hosted it (they just moved into a new & bigger house which is beautiful). We do a kid & family photo and a gift exchange! The gift exchange is usually for the wife's, but has now extended to the kids which is fun to watch them open. That is what Christmas is all about. I gave each child a little sack of goodies: slinky's, pencils, punch ball, candy & some reindeer antlers, they looked so cute and kept them entertained. Thanks Brook & Rebecca to keeping our tradation going. We love you guys...

McCall (9 months) & Shaydon (4 months)......They are so cute!!

My camera was on the fritz s again so I am waiting for photos from the others of our fun night to post.... Stay tuned.

HApPy HoLiDaYS!!!

Here is our Christmas card. I wanted to have them out last week, but they are still earlier than last year. I love to scrap them and got the layout idea from my friend Rebecca and then I was inspired by a blanket at old navy. I hope you have a merry christmas from our house to yours.

2007 has been an eventful year for us we started off the year with a trip to Cancun Mexico in January with the entire Gerratt family. We all had a blast and it was a lot of fun all being together on the beach at the resort. Thanks again Mom and Dad. Sommers spent most of the spring with morning sickness, but was tough and hung in there until the sickness passed. We were fortunate enough for Sommers to be able to only work part-time this season for BLM and they even let her do office work so she wasn’t out on the fire line at all this year and yes she did miss it. Scott has been very busy at work as Supervalu has transitioned all of the tax work to the Boise office. It has been a long a frustrating process but it is hopefully going to slow down in the next month or so. We did get to do some boating this summer but Sommers wasn’t able to Wakeboard near as much as she would have liked to, but we still had fun. We were very blessed with the healthy and long anticipated arrival of Shaydon Allen on August 28th of this year. His birth went very smoothly and Sommers was a real trooper and Scott was there to help her to remember to breathe the way we learned in our Lamaze class. It was an amazing experience that you can only describe if you have been through it. Shaydon has been growing like a weed and enjoys being home with Mom and Roxy. He has been a very good baby and we have been very blessed to have him in our lives. Roxy has been very good with Shaydon she is very protective of him, & can’t wait for him to get older so they can play. We are so grateful to all of you for the cards, calls & everything since his birth. We truly are blessed to have such great family & friends. We hope that you have all had a wonderful year & enjoy a great holiday season. Love you all.

THE BIG EASY

Friday 7, 2007
Happy Birthday Ryan Deluca 30 Years old.....

Ryan's Wife Bryna threw him a surprise Birthday Party at The Big Easy. His whole company Bodybuilding.com was invited along with friends and family. It was a fun night that started off by singing Happy Birthday to Ryan then there was lots of food to eat: American, Italian, Mexican, Asian, & dessert. Then came the presents as you can see it was a custom bike that orange county choppers designed just for him. Dancing followed by visiting with friends. Thanks Deluca's for throwing a fun party for everyone to enjoy....

Having a GREAT time.

Christmas Lights

I finally took a picture of our house Christmas lights. Scott takes pride in his work & it's his favorite thing to get ready for the Holidays... he put them up last Saturday morning. We have a couple of snowflakes, a blow up Santa, icicles lights and some colored lights around the garage door & porch. Oh, don't forget the Christmas tree in the flower bed. I did my part with a fresh wreath from Costco.

Three ~ Two ~ One

Tis the season to church ball.......

Tuesday night was the first game at 8:00pm at
the stake center. There were 14 guys who showed
up and everyone got to play. We won the game against
Mill Creek, needless to say we stayed fresh. Me and Jessica
were the only wife's that came to cheer them to victory.
(there were a few kids) See you next Tuesday night.

Our New Truck

We finally got our 1st new vehicle!! It's smells so so so good. We got it last Monday from Dan Weibold Ford, in Nampa. I have been the one driving it because Scott doesn't want to put the miles on it going to work. Good excuse, but the extended cab just wasn't cutting it with the car seat. My favorite thing is the seat warmers, Scott's is the tires and wheels, Shaydon's is the leather seats (easy clean up when he makes a mess) and Roxy loves the bed with all the room to play!!

Elf Yourself!!

I had a couple of friends send this to us so we decided to try it our self.

enjoy....

Happy Holidays

Extreme Home Makeovers

Middelton, Idaho

We got to be apart of the ABC's Extreme home makeovers back on August 15, 2007 when they actually built the house. Our friends the Bledsoes took us with them and it was fun to see it all coming together. It was so hot that day people were passing out.

We invited our friends the Bo & Jamie Perkins over for dinner and to watched the airing of the EHM show tonight. I made a pork roast with green beans, mash potato's and rolls. The perkins brought strawberry shortcake. Then we played a game of domino's while eating popcorn.
