it is always sad to have to meet with family (sometime it seems like the only time we get to see them) on such a sad moment in time, but we are so grateful for our plan of salvation to see grandma great again!! shaydon did so well with all aspects of his 1st death in either of our family's. we showed him pix of them together and talked about seeing her in heaven some day. "jesus is taking care of her right now" he wanted to see her in the casket and asked why her eyes were closed? he said he will miss her as we all will. happy she gets to see her husband again!! since i am posting this sooo long after the fact i can tell you a story of when shaydon went in to get his 1st cast off. we got there a little early and we were sitting in the truck he said in a really sad low voice "i wish grandma great would be here with me? i said she is sweet heart she is looking at you from heaven. he said to me but her eyes were closed, MOM?!!! so we talked about how the body is here on earth and the spirit goes to heaven and he was okay with it and new she was going to help him be soo brave!! i just love the sweetness of shaydon's personality. i love you!!

we were a big group at outback tonight.

i couldn't remember the last time i ate there, but i love the awesome blossom!!

it's always a treat when they come to town. not only do we love to spend time with them we got free time away from the kids. we went to the movie source code! thanks for allowing us to spend some much needed time together! see you next time love you! we r looking forward to reagan being here for the summer!

YARD SALES

this was about the 4th weekend i have gotten to go!

not pictured: snow shovel, 2 bag of fertilizer, kids table and 4 chairs

what a day......this is the most stuff i have EVER bought in one day of yard saling in my life. i pretty much felt guilty and stoped going to houses because i was in the car and wouldn't be able to get it home. not very often do you find that many yard sales with boy stuff. it was very exciting that I had to call my friend rebecca and my mom to celebrate with. they reassured me me i didn't over spend! i can't even list everything i got, but i will say that i spent $63.00 for about 85 items & paid about 50 cents per item. CRAZY huh!! here are a few of my favorites:

3 melissa and doug puzzles and a shopping cart cover for slater, north face jacket and tie for scott, tonz of hurley/quicksilver clothes for shaydon to grow into & a cardigan and sweatshirt for me! not to mention some stuff for bailey!

good thing our neighborhood is having a yard sale next weekend!

Gladys Garner

Scott's grandmother passed away today, barbara's mother. She was a wonderful lady and great example to everyone! We will miss her, but know she is excited to see her husband!

We are greatful for all she had done for us!

we met landon & mollie at mickey d's for lunch and let the kids eat & play! wasn't sure how shaydon would do with his broken arm. we haven't been back to a "play" place since! it didn't seem to slow him down. thanks for the invite it was fun to see you guys & catch up!!

i promised shaydon dessert for eating so well at dinner and i let him choose what he wanted. he wanted smore's in the fire pit! i said okay not realizing that scott wasn't going to be home to get everything ready. so last minute instead of canceling on him i talked him into indoor smore's. he thought it was GREAT!

here is where it went bad.....

started with the grass for slater & shaydon

and ended with shaydon falling into the fountain/waterfall with his week old cast!! ugh...

I said a few things i shouldn't of on the temple grounds... I am going to hell!!

spent the rest of the afternoon with the blow dryer in the bathroom

and trying to get a 3 year old to sit still... man his he testing me!

i guess it is funny if you look at it like that, but it the moment it was not funny!

what a weekend. our surprise package arrived on friday evening larry and barbara. wendy also came from SLC. we all headed our to erics for a BBQ and visiting. the kids had lots of fun together. stayed way too late, but lots of fun. zack taught shaydon all about football. breakdown, wrap and pull. dad is proud!! thanks zack. all the boys went early on saturday to zack and nic football games. i worked and then meet them out to erics house. watched to reruns of kate and will wedding. took a little nap. scott helped his parents look for a car. we went to dinner at my favorite place willow creek grill. shaydon was so tired that he literally fell asleep at the dinner table and didn't move when he got in and out of the car 6 times before we got home for the night. CRAZY guy. Those cousins wore him out!!! how fun it was to see the boyz interact with them. it was like they never left!! how special.

we were very lucky to spend easter with my dad. it was a low key weekend but fun.

kite flying, went to see a parade of homes, house in eagle, naps, and a traditional delicious dinner. ham, lime jello, garlic potatoes, sweet potato's, corn, rolls and strawberry shortcake. thanks to everyone for the easter stuff for the kids they are very spoiled by both set of grand parents & aunts!! there is so much candy around the house it's ridiculous. so much for the 10 lb's i need to loose. all of this is nice, but the real reason for easter is JESUS. we are very grateful for his sacrifice for us and everyone. we are grateful for our belief and do our best to teach that to our boys. we hope to be good examples to them. thanks to him for giving us the opportunity to be parents.

got the best of us today.....

we were enjoying a fun play date with cara, milo and ollie when shaydon started to cry & was holding his arm....as soon as i saw it i knew it was broken, it made me nauseous! call scott and went and pick him up from work and headed to the St. Lukes ER. THANKS to cara for keeping slater while we went.

It was a packed room. Respiratory therapist, Nurse, Dr., Scott, Me, Slater and the x-ray machine. he had wires hooked up to his heart and oxygen in his nose. i am glad he was out of it cause it made me squirm... just at the sounds it made. he squirmed a little. he kept saying i am brave right? yep you are i said!!!

He sure got spoiled!!! he got to watch spider man on TV, got spider man stickers, a new hippopotamus book and a toy "ZIP". i am sure i will pay for it when the bill comes right? glad he is doing so well. the pain meds make him a little loopy and so talkative and i thought he asked a lot of questions before the meds. the x-rays were pretty bad. i am going to get a copy of it for his baby book.

we stopped at costco for a berry smoothie for the brave little man. i think we will all sleep well tonight. What an eventful day!! Scott said to me after we had the kids to bed "don't you think we have more drama than anyone we know?" LOL i know right........ or is this just life?? this is after our sump pump went out last week and our basement smells like poop....ugh..... :0)
